None of us were up on roofs crying for help.

We were too busy firing up generators and chainsaws.

Like I said, it was fun. A good exercise.

Get to work and help a few others while you are at it.

Funny thing, I don’t remember seeing so many stridently helpless people until Katrina.

I live back in the San Francisco Bay Area and always my back pack in the trunk.

Many think it weird or that I am survivalist. I am neither. I have live through floods and mudslides in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

I have lived through floods, Tornadoes and hail storms in Oklahoma.

More over I have found myself in the position of helping people and been fortunate to have my gear with me.

I tell better to be prepared and have it, than need it and not.

The only people who don’t think I am weird are the ones who I have helped and I have had to bail myself out a few times.
