How did his religious leanings have anything to do with his failings?

They didn't have anything to do with his failings.

Those that failed the Republican Party were evangelicals that picked Bush in the primaries simply because he was an evangelical.

Well it should be obvious by now that being an evangelical doesn't necessarily make a person a good president. Yet here were are talking about Palin in 2012 all because the evangelicals think shes just swell. And yet again, that's all they seem to care about. Palin is a nice person. Sure. But she's just as shallow as Bush. She'd be another disaster.

You're a raving nutter!

The only presidents we've ever had that can match Palin in intellect and depth are Jefferson, Madison, and Reagan.

I’m not even going to address the “shallow” statement. Dead wrong there. But I will point out something you seem oblivious to. Palin is well respected among Christians. True. But she is NOT their preferred candidate.

It’s Huckabee.

The people supporting Sarah most strongly right now are disaffected conservatives, some libertarians, small government types. They represent the Tes Party movement. Guys like Dobson are in LOVE with Huckabee. They rejected Fred Thompson because he wasn’t outspoken enough or willing to use the government enough to their liking and than caused a fissure in the primaries leading to a split between Romney, McCain and Huckabee.

I see nothing that will change this anytime soon. Huckabee offers the same social positions Sarah does, but he promises the use of government to enforce them. She would be their second choice, but she is not their first.
