McCain on Palin: 'Let's come up with a winning combination next time' [next time???]
Politico / CNN ^ | 2009-10-11

(snip)

Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union," the Arizona Republican said: "When we selected, or asked, Sarah Palin to be my running mate, it energized our party. We were ahead in the polls, until the stock market crashed. And she still is a formidable force in the Republican Party. And I have great affection for her. Will Sarah and I - did we always agree on everything in the past? Will we in the future? No. But let's let a thousand flowers bloom. Let's come up with a winning combination next time."

"Palin is a nice person. Sure. But she's just as shallow as Bush."

You're a raving nutter!

The only presidents we've ever had that can match Palin in intellect and depth are Jefferson, Madison, and Reagan.

Seriously, he if FAR too old to run for pres. again, last time was really pushing it.

I don’t think he’s too old to run at all, much of it can be conducted from home via telecommunications- although he certainly is too old to actually serve as president. But he wouldn’t need to worry about that part, because he would stand no chance of actually winning the election.

Soooo true!! I’m not even sure he meant to, or was meant to, win last time.

Bush led us for 7 3/4 years with record low unemployment through 9-11 and two wars. The zero has destroyed our economy since it became obvious he was going to win, I hope people like you are unemployed the entire time Obama is President.

Typical arrogant Texan.

What exactly, did Bush do as president to account for low unemployment?

How did his religious leanings have anything to do with his failings?

They didn't have anything to do with his failings.

Those that failed the Republican Party were evangelicals that picked Bush in the primaries simply because he was an evangelical.

Well it should be obvious by now that being an evangelical doesn't necessarily make a person a good president. Yet here were are talking about Palin in 2012 all because the evangelicals think shes just swell. And yet again, that's all they seem to care about. Palin is a nice person. Sure. But she's just as shallow as Bush. She'd be another disaster.

McNuts thinks he’s chairman of the GOP. He needs to be sent packing in the 2010 AZ primary. His defeat will strike fear in the Senate.

“If McCain is casually using Maoist language on Palin, then perhaps he may never have been fully de-programmed after his time spent with the North Vietnamese Communists.”

I’ve stated before that McCain is a war casualty.

Hey RNC...I dare you to pull that stunt again. I’ll walk away and never look back.

Seriously? Two words: TAX CUTS!

I didn't know a president could order tax cuts.

Seriously, what did Bush do as president?

This geriatric pandering backstabbing a-hole will not run for President again. We absolutely must vote him out, and those like him such as Graham and Lieberman, and everybody else in the House and Senate like them. We cannot attempt to restore the country with people like them in office.

Seriously (again)?! GW proposed and pushed Congress to pass his much maligned “tax cuts for the rich”:http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/08/washington/08tax.html

Anyone who doesn’t understand that those tax cuts were a huge spur to the economy and employment is an economic illiterate. Unfortunately, at least 53% of America consists of economic illiterates.

GW screwed up a LOT with his “compassionate conservatism” = soft socialism, but this is one thing he got right!

perhaps he may never have been fully de-programmed

I've seen some discussions on that possibility.

Is this happening? I’m lurking (and posting to a certain someone who apparently thinks GW had nothing to do with the tax cuts at the start of his admin that spurred the economy and employment) to see if it does. If it doesn’t, I’m going to try, although posting the thread and links will be a mess using my phone.

(Please ping if/when the McCain/Mao quote is posted.on its own thread. Thanks!)
