This is nonsense.

There are only a handful of truly conservative Republicans willing to stand up against the slide into socialism. All the Democrats seem willing to race there and half the Republicans are walking there. Whether we fall into socialism depends upon enough men and women with the courage and guts to speak out against it. It does NOT depend on me supporting people like John McCain or Olypian Snowe to stop the Democrats, because these people are JUST as guilty as the rest of the Democrats.

It is absolutely wrong to think that dividing your vote/or financial support will stem this growing socialist tide. It will not unless we support people who are willing to take on the tough choices that face this country. To say that we will elect ANY Republican just because they’ll stop the Democrats simply is not true.

The Republican had their chance and blew it. I am not going to give money or support to the likes of a party who does not have the guts to stand on principles. Nor am I’m going to give my money/support to a party who is going to turn around and support someone like Snowe just because she’s “electable”. What good is that?

I want a party that clearly details how they plan on getting us out of this mess. It doesn’t matter if they win or lose. What matters is that they speak out. I’m tired of a party that wants to look at “including” people. Instead they should develop some backbone and say, “This is what we stand for…” and then let the people come to them. Believe me, you will have all sorts of people coming.

My money and time will go to those who stand for principles. If we lose then we gave it our best shot as the country slides into socialism.

I pretty much agree with you. Sometimes, unfortunately, you simply have to backtrack. When you're going in the wrong direction, you need to turn around, even if it costs you time and money and pain. The mistakes are already made. No use pretending about it.

However, as you may see from my other posts on this thread, the problem is far worse than just a corrupt party. It's a failed system. Until we start over, we're playing around at the margins.
