A reader wrote: I live in the state of Tennessee, but I have family in upstate New York and my mother was born and raised in NY. Anyway I was so disgusted this morning when I received a RedState alert about the House Republican Conference endorsing Scozzafava that I immediately called the RNC and contacted the leadership of the House Republican Conference by phone and by fax. I told them I had regularly contributed my hard earned dollars to the RNC but this news totally disgusted me and I was not contributing any more money to the RNC for the time being, that instead I was going to contribute to individual candidates. Accordingly I immediately sent a small contribution to Mr. Hoffmans campaign and will continue to do so Why did the Republican Party there in your district not select Mr. Hoffman as the candidate?
The answer is simple: This is a Special Election, so there was no primary. Instead, eleven local Republican officials got together (in what used to be called a smoke-filled room) to handpick a candidate.
If you can't donate to Doug Hoffmann, then by all means spread word about him to all you can (especially those in New York).
I don't live in NY or this district, but it looks like the RNC "approved" candidate is another liberal RINO moderate..
Since this article is from the Doug Hoffman for Congress website, how about a little information on his opponent? I don’t just buy it because he says so.
If you want to donate find a conservative candidate you can support and give him you $$. For God’s sake don’t ever trust the RNC with you money.
How true.

Most politicos from that district state she is the most liberal of the three candidates and she is the Republican. She is also leading in the polls and the GOP establishment in DC wants a winner.....any winner.
Right to Life and ACU endorsed her, which offsets Chucky U. Schumer. Gotta be doing something right.

Main Street PAC (the “moderate” RINOS), and The UAW also endorsed her,
I hadnt heard of the RTL and ACU endorsing her: Can you provide links..?
I’m sorry, you’re right. I was reading your guy. Clearly Hoffman is the preferred candidate. What does the polling show? Does he have a shot? I understand the desperation of conservatives to get rid of the RINOs. But in some states like NY, I wonder if it is possible to elect a conservative. Even Peter King-—who is fantastic on life and the WoT-—opposed tax cuts in the past. So I’d have to know more about this person, but it seems she is a typical RINO.
I have heard it is a closely three way race with The RINO leading, the Demo in ~slight~ and I say this like ~very slight~ 1% or less ahead of the Conservative, Hoffmann (at least that’s what polls have said, and other freepers from the area). So I think it’s winable!
Go Hoffman, then.
She is also leading in the polls and the GOP establishment in DC wants a winner.....any winner.”
Over and over again...the same mistake is made. Even freepers argue for it....they’ll vote for whomever they deem the most electable candidate, regardless.
