Jerry Jones just did.
True enough. But those people didn't get to watch the game sitting on uncomfortable bench seats staring into a West setting sun that was so bright that you could hardly see the game. Ahhh - those were the days.
Dave Checketts was head of Madison Square Garden a while back..which runs the Knicks and Rangers, and his record as head of MSG was, well...abombinable....
Seems that LA can support two baseball, two basketball (well make that one and a half), and even two soccer teams just fine.
And even two hockey teams.
Thanks for the great story. Isn’t it interesting what women go for sometimes.
I guess the mourning period was over, several weeks...
I had a friend who used to brag about all that he owned, when out during the evening. It was clear the guy was bragging on himself and his bobbles, but the women just bought that up.
I got over that type of thing in grade school.
Honestly, I thought Frontiere would have sold the Pams/Lambs years ago.
One of the LA suburbs (Industry?) has already said they would build a new stadium.
Rush Lambaugh.
Think it’s a mistake for Rush to go this way and get involved with franchise ownership. Not saying he couldn’t do it, just think it’s like another wife.
Well, you're not scheduled to play us, so you have a chance too!
Exactly - Rush is a sports FAN. This may be a business venture, but I think the most important thing is he loves the sport of Football. He will be in it to win and that will be great for the Rams and St. Louis.
Checketts has turned around the blues as well. They were back in the playoffs last year after a few years out of the mix and this year they are looking awesome!
We also had this happen to the Cardinals. Gussie Busch loved baseball and you could tell. After he passed in 89, they started treating the Cardinals like a business, cut costs and eventually sold the team. Thanksfully the new owners love baseball and the team is doing well.
Back in LA, where they won all of their Super Bowls. :)
I grew up a Dodgers and Rams fan, but moved to St Louis and became a Cardinals and Rams fan. Still, the Rams belong in LA.
Shouldn't they be back in Cleveland?
Sorry, they're stuck with the Browns. ;)
Your Blues and Cardinals examples are highly apropos.
Give the St. Louis Rams decent, interested ownership with even modest on-field success and effort, and they will be as well-supported as any NFL franchise.
St. Louis doesn’t require an egomaniac like Jerry Jones or Al Davis, just an owner who is interested in providing a quality team, and cares about the city.
but Rush could easily be a minority owner.
Of course, if he bought GB, he could make a slight name change of the stadium to Limbaugh Field...
You mean there’s a team in the NFL worse than the Chiefs???
Yes, the one that plays here!!! 0-16 does happen again, and it happens in Cleveland, the laughingstock of the NFL!!!
Ummmm, I live in St. Louis metro area and I don’t like going downtown. Much rather go spend the day in the out-of-doors, besides minor league sports are much more affordable and fun - we have football, baseball and hockey right in good ‘ole St. Charles County.
