Is there anyway that Illinois could toss Chicago. Would Indiana want it (no I think not), maybe Wisconsin although there are a few souls between Chicago and Wisconsin that would not want to be moved to Wisconsin with or without Chicago. How about the best solution of all, just extend the Michigan border across the Lake to take in Cook County. A gain for the rest of Illinois and not great loss for Michigan as it would simply compliment that great city of Detroit. Michigan is lost anyway you look at it.
The Olympic committee took one look at the corruption and crime in Chicago and never looked back.

The IOC was probably offended that the US delegation tried to sway their decision by bringing along Oprah. And it had every right to be.

In the end their mistake was making this about Bam instead of about the Olympics. The reason Chicago lost was BECAUSE of Bam, they did not want this to turn into the Bam Olympics and have him and Michelle on TV as the heros of getting the games to Chicago. If he would have kept a low profile and lobbied/bribed behind the scenes, they might have pulled it off.
Why would they want the games in Chicago if it meant that it was about Bam and not about the games? Very rational an the part of the IOC, they saw thru his game.
