After listening repeatedly, with eyes open & shut, deliberately trying to hear “God” instead of “Obama,” I come to the same conclusion as other posters here:
1) No doubt the crowd chants: “Hear our cry, Obama” in the early parts of the recording.
2) Later in the recording, some in the crowd say, “Deliver us, O God” while others — with my equipment and no analyzing software of any kind, it is impossible for me to isolate how many there may be — are definitely saying “Deliver us, Obama.”
Whether they ask to be heard by or delivered by Obama, the whole thing is blasphemy of the highest order. My assistant figured out what they were saying and immediately closed the window, saying, “I cannot listen to this. It’s making me sick to my stomach.” I can’t improve upon her brilliantly succint comment.
I’ve been trying to figure out who the woman is conducting the “prayer”. It might help if we understood her background, etc. I found Sister Becky Swanson from Minnesota who admits helping to conduct the opening worship service for this meeting and admits attending this health care “demonstration”. You can read her summary of the event at http://saplc.org/newsletter/cm090101.pdf on page 6. She is apparently a Lutheran Deaconess. I don’t know if she was the one reading the “prayer” or not. Someone else may be able to find that out.
