You can pick up a phone and call HI Vital Records and find out that the ‘journalist’ is absolutely wrong. Vital Records will supply a photostatic copy of the original Certificate of Live Birth, if a legally connected source requests it and it is actually in the paper documents vault/storage, but it takes weeks to get it from the vaults, as explained to me when I called and asked after Jon Klein tried to tell his lie and force it out of Lou Dobbs’ mouth.

I don’t think its the journalist who is wrong. It was Janice Okubo, Director of Communications of the Hawaii State Department of Health who said in that interview: “The state Department of Health no longer issues copies of paper birth certificates as was done in the past, said spokeswoman Janice Okubo.

The department only issues ‘certifications’ of live births, and that is the ‘official birth certificate’ issued by the state of Hawaii, she said.”
Now if Ms. Okubo is mistaken, that’s another thing. If Okubo is correct, then Obama has the upper hand in any court proceeding. The only remaining issue would be whether his Certification of Live Birth is fraudulent, forged or altered in some way.
All of the state Health Department officials that have spoken about the status of Obama’s birth certificate are appointees of Linda Lingle, the Republican Governor of Hawaii and they serve in their positions at the Governor’s pleasure.
