Zero wasn't influencing the 2006 elections when Daniels lost the IN House and the federal majority on his watch. The fact that IN was lost for the Presidency in '08 for the first time in 44 years spoke poorly to Daniels as the party leader for the state. Not even Bob Dole had to worry about carrying the state in '96 (and he did so even as Mayor Goldsmith lost the Governorship he was expected to win). If Daniels had been an effective party leader, he would've been able to help reclaim the IN House in '08 and some of those federal House seats that have no business being in Dem hands. We gained nothing.

Again, that criteria pretty much excludes every GOP leader in the country. They all dropped the ball in ‘06, and again in ‘08.
