Thank you for contacting me regarding former White House advisor Van Jones. I appreciated hearing from you.
On July 6, 2009, Van Jones, former special advisor for green jobs to the White House Council on Environmental Quality, resigned. Van Jones was not a direct adviser to the president and his position was not subject to confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
Although Mr. Jones is entitled to his own opinions and to advocate for his beliefs, his past comments on a variety of topics may have been inappropriate for his appointment within the Executive Office of the President.
Again, thank you for contacting me. Please feel free to contact me again in the future with issues that concern you.
Sincerely,
BART STUPAK Member of Congress
In the heading I said letter. I should have said email, sorry about the error.
“his past comments on a variety of topics may have been inappropriate for his appointment within the Executive Office of the President”
Forget past comments, how about his current opinions? Can anybody really be so stupid as to not see that’s the point? Not that he said he was a communist three years ago, but the fact that all signs are he’s still one.
Good job
yes it was a bs response but you forced a response.I wonder if he got many emails on this , I bet not
How stupid is this Stupak to not see he made your argument for you when he pointed out Jones did not need Senator confirmation?
Uh ignoramus Stupak THAT is one of the problems, no oversight on any of obama’s stooges
I emailed that moron a couple times, got back the same stupid canned responses. He is a loser, and hopefully he will go soon. Hopefully Tom Casperson will run and take his position, he is a good man.
Oh, he wasn’t a “direct advisor” to the president and he wasn’t confirmed by the Senate. So I guess the entire thing must have been blown all out of proportion.
How the heck does Stupak KNOW what Jones was doing? His position and responsibilities are secret!
I just hope my fellow Michiganders don’t vote him in again. I don’t know what the response has been. Not sure if he’s been overwhelmed with calls and emails or not.
That “not a direct advisor to the president,” was the first thing I saw. I thought what the heck is he talking about and who does he think he’s kidding? I wasn’t born yesterday. The thing that galls me the most is they lie so easy and think we’re all stupid.
His district may have to wake up from their deer hunting camps next year, but I doubt they will.
The memory of him standing behind President Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal is forever etched in my mind and I think about it every time I see him. I will never trust him and I only hope and pray he get’s voted out this next election.
No, I too am from Michigan and I find his answer perfectly in line with a question asked after the individual in question is history. Why go out on a limb and blast the guy and potentially alienate anyone who may be sitting on the fence? That's politics my dear and Stupak handled your question as expected.
FWIW, you did receive an answer didn't you?
