I will hold a telephone town hall meeting at 6:00 p.m. EDT / 5:00 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. The telephone town hall will allow residents of the First Congressional District to ask me questions on a range of issues, including health care and the economy. This will be my fourth town hall meeting with constituents since July 29.
These town hall meetings have been extremely productive, allowing me to hear directly from constituents and provide accurate and clear explanations about health care reform and other critical issues of concern to Northern Michigan residents. This format allows me to reach out to people across the entire vast First District and hear their concerns and feedback directly, even when a busy legislative schedule keeps me in Washington, DC. I look forward to answering as many questions as possible over the course of the hour.
Constituents in the First District who wish to participate in the telephone town hall can sign up by visiting my website at www.house.gov/stupak and selecting E-mail and Telephone Town Hall Sign-Up or by calling my office at 1-800-950-7371.
Last month, I held two televised call-in town halls with WMNU and WCMU public television and radio to talk about health care and the economy. The programs reached tens of thousands of people across a vast geographic area. In July, 3,537 constituents joined me for an hour-long call, held in the midst of consideration of health care reform legislation by the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
To listen to my invitation to constituents to participate in the telephone town hall, please visit http://www.house.gov/list/hearing/mi01_stupak/20090918 teletownhall.mp3.
As always, I want to hear from you on federal issues important to you. Please visit www.house.gov/stupak or call 1-800-950-REP1 (7371).
Sincerely,
Bart Stupak Member of Congress
If you can’t take the heat you stay out of the kitchen.
very convenient... “Ooops you’re breaking up, I’m driving thru a tunnel....”
Very convenient..
Sample screening question: Are you for or against Obamacare? Against? Sorry, our lines are full..
Post Town Hall Statement: Americans are fully for this. We didn’t have one call against..
Ping.
This makes the third faction in the House who will upend the legislation, Stupak in the pro-life caucus, he is not a Blue Dog.
He is staying out of the kitchen....lol Actually it isn’t funny. It’s obvious that he’s afraid to show up in person.
Yes isn’t it. The other time he did this, he did the same thing. I just got the notice this afternoon. The phone in is suppose to be tomorrow.
What courage, what stoutheartedness and what a schmuck.
I take it he likes caller i.d.
