It goes on & on & on, as though nothing really has any definite meaning to it.
It all started, IMO when the borking of Judge Bork introduced us to the Kennedy-Jordan-Metzenbaum School of Psychic Law, where in the "living constitution" no longer meant that the Constitution was adaptable through amendment, and instead meant that the words of the Constitution have whatever meaning a currently-sitting judge dreams that they should mean. That was the beginning of the end, for me.
