Enough! Many posters in this thread have attempted to explain to you the logical reasons for supporting moderate Republicans, but all you purists do is use personal attacks, a sure sign that you are intellectually bankrupt.

Here is the reality: people such as yourself will never attain power in the GOP because you alienate reasonable people from your cause. If somehow you ever concentrated enough of your ilk in one state or county, the Republican leadership has rules which will be used to prevent you from wrecking the party as a whole. We will not allow you to destroy our party. If you don't like that, then it is best for you to leave altogether.

There's nothing logical about supporting liberal Republicans.

Personal attacks are a FR staple. That doesn't mean the poster is mean-spirited, it just means we're adults. Think of grown men arguing at the bar, sheesh.

Here is the reality: people such as yourself will never attain power in the GOP because you alienate reasonable people from your cause.

Here's reality right back at ya - when you support "moderate" Republicans to accommodate the liberal fabrication that the GOP must move "to the middle" in order to win, you lose both your core supporters and the liberals/independents who will vote for the other party anyway. Again, please explain to me how Reagan won his two landslides and the GOP won Congress in 1994. They outlined a set of conservatives principles and stuck to them, and those "reasonable" people you refer to liked what they saw and voted for them as well.

If somehow you ever concentrated enough of your ilk in one state or county, the Republican leadership has rules which will be used to prevent you from wrecking the party as a whole. We will not allow you to destroy our party. If you don't like that, then it is best for you to leave altogether.

Rookie, this is a CONSERVATIVE Forum, this is NOT a pro-Republican Part Forum where we all sing kumbaya and vote for anything that has an "R" attached to it. I do not support liberal Republicans, I wholeheartedly reject the BS that only "moderate" Republicans can win in the Northeast (where they have actually lost ground in the last few years). Conservatism itself IS the middle of the road, it is MODERATE, and if Republicans clearly outline conservatism they will get the squishy middle voters in the end.

Well, you RINOs don’t have to worry about a takeover of the GOP by conservatives because they don’t have the will to even try. Here it is with Obama as president and the GOP leadership steering the party further left, and conservatives are still doing little more than bitching and moaning. I don’t know why I even try anymore.
