There is nothing more harmful to Conservatism than "Christian Socialism", big government nanny-staters who act on behalf of "Christian values". Almost as bad as the "Christian left" which abuses Christianity for liberal causes. We must beware of Huckabee types.

COnservatives need the social conservatives because there aren’t enough people to win a majority otherwise.

And yes, coalitions suck, because you end up with people you disagree with on some issues.

But on the other hand, you don’t win elections with minority factions, unless you put a few of them together.
