WASHINGTON (CNN) Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has planned a flurry of appearances in the Washington area this weekend, an indicator of the kind of hectic schedule he's been keeping as he looks ahead to a possible presidential bid in 2012.
His D.C. itinerary will be dominated by fundraisers, but Romney has planned a pair of high-profile speeches to conservative groups that are sure to draw attention: On Saturday he is slated to address the Values Voters Summit, and on Monday he'll deliver remarks to a luncheon at the Foreign Policy Initiative, a neoconservative think tank founded by William Kristol.

There's a few Romneybots around here who will like that.
Neocon my ass. He’s just a con.
Romney is a “Neocon”? He’s a liberal Republican with an opportunistic streak. He is also highly accomplished, with the looks of an elderly Ken doll.
But “neocon”? I dunno - he doesn’t feel very much like a first-gen neocon (I.e. ex-liberal social scientists scared off from the liberal reservation by the failures of the Great Society) or a second-generation one (I.e. foreign policy hawks with a focus on the middle east and democracy promotion) to me.
A neocon is a single issue voter who’s only issue is being pro-war. Romney is not my cup of tea for many reasons, but I would not exactly describe him that way.
while campaigning for president, romney gets a “call” from arnold...this is funny

Could the RNC possibly make such a horrible mistake twice?
Palin 2012!
Not a mistake. It’s deliberate.
"... Mitt signed into law a bill supported by ACORN. ...
Today, Governor Mitt Romney signed a law that "cracked down on the practice of 'loan flipping.'"
The article notes state legislator John Quinn, who authored the bill,
held "nearly two-years-plus of hearings and meetings" with ACORN and that ACORN supported the final bill. "

Now how Romney is that?
I agree. Romney is a liberal Republican, not a Neocon.
He is not electable anyway because he is a Mormon. Funny, we just elected a Gang Leader (I can no longer refer to Obama as President) who attended a racist, hate da white man church. But for some reason, people won’t vote for a Mormon.
Romeny isn’t my cup of tea, but many of this board will repeat the McCain fiasco and not vote. Giving the Leader of the Crips Party another 4 years.
Palin is not electable either. If you think so, you are seriously deluded.
In fact, no matter horrible Obama is, the US will reelect him. The Republicans will ALWAYS be smeared as racists by the media because THEY are afraid of being called racists by ACORN, la Raza, the unions and the other hustler fringe groups of the left.
2A until I die. Gungrabbers can go away. Same thing I said years ago when FR was trying to vet that guy.
This cat brought us the template for a lot of the garbage going on right now.
The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++8 pts. days prior to September 18th, 2008.
So the RomneyTeam attacked Gov. Palin and her children to throw Election2008.
Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

I didn’t vote for Romney in the primary, I voted for Thompson. But I really hated all the Romney bashing then, and I hate it now.
The National Review endorsed him. I’m not saying we should follow everything the National Review or any conservative publication says... but to take the candidate endorsed by the National Review — the National Review for goodness sake! — and try to turn him into some kind of Arlen Specter is just plain wrong.
If Romney had somehow gotten the nomination (difficult, I know) I believe he would have run a much better campaign against The One than that tired old hack McCain ran.
And if Romney had somehow won the presidency (difficult, I know) I believe he would have been about 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better a president than is The One.
So go ahead, bash to your heart’s content. The libs love it when we bash each other.
(And I post these words as a dedicated supporter of Sarah Palin. I’ve already sent her PAC money and I will send more. And when she runs I will be a tireless worker in her campaign. But I won’t ever feel the need to bash Romney during any of that time.)
I heard the list of speakers, for this confab and I wanted to barf. Establisment RINOism at its finest, lets move on here....
Last election cycle the pubbies let crossover voting in state primaries affect the outcome allowing the very old feeble RINO fool McLame to get the nomination insuring defeat.
Looks like the dems are trying to do the same thing by pushing forward the RINO fool Romney cause they know he has NO chance of winning.
I think the best bet in 2012 is someone like Pawlenty. He’s a decent conservative, a fresh face, has a solid record, and doesn’t have nearly the baggage of Newt, Romney, or Sarah Palin.
Why aren’t “open” primary states buttoning up the process? THIS is the time
to do that. THIS TIME - we’re going to get the candidate WE WANT.
NO MORE MCCAINS ! (so to speak)
GO SARAH !!!!
Romeny and Guns simply do not work.
He is not acceptable on this alone.

McCain had a chance until he “suspended” his campaign to fly back to DC. What a stupid, stupid fake move. I think that is the point he started his downhill slide.
I’m surprised he didn’t lose by more (thank you Sarah!)
Also, McCain wouldn’t let anyone go after THE BOOB in chief’s “friends” like Ayers, Wright. And now, what are THE BOOB’s main problems? Yep, his prior relationships.
STUPID STUPID STUPID !
