I think a lot of the problem is that Rush/Levin and Beck are from two fundamentally different schools of conservative thought. Rush and Levin are more from the Reagan Revolution Conservatives who believe, for the most part, in working within the Republican party framework to advance conservatism. Where Beck is more the “pox on both your parties” populist, rabble rousing type of conservative with a strong independent, libertarian streak.
