Can you even imagine John Murtha tried for treason, found guilty, and executed?

No. I can imagine him getting arrested and convicted for bribe-taking. But not treason. The US has an extremely limited definition of treason, and there's simply no way John Murtha violated it -- unless you know something I don't.

Wrong, treason is defined as: Adhering to or giving aid & comfort to the enemy.

Murtha gave the enemy aid and comfort when he:
- Corroborated their claims of war-crimes; which investigations revealed to be false.
- Slandered military-men, acting in the line of duty and in accordance with their ROE.
- Demoralized the armed forces: do you know what it’s like to be putting your ass on the line and someone who’s supposed to be “on your side” degrades and insults you?

Let’s put it this way: there was a treason case made about a father who gave his son a room to sleep in; his son was found to be a spy. (Regrettably I do not remember the outcome of this.) Murtha has undoubtedly done more to harm our armed forces [directly] than that man EVER did... and orders of magnitude moreso if you consider indirectly.
