Bipartisan Baucus plan may leave Democrats cold

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus has been trying for months to write a health care bill that could win Republican support. If he succeeds he may find it's fellow Democrats he has to worry about.

Baucus, D-Mont., said Monday that "we're getting very close" to finalizing sweeping health legislation to enact President Barack Obama's priorities of extending coverage to most of the 50 million uninsured and holding down spiraling health care costs.

Following weeks of closed-door negotiations with two other Democratic senators and three Republicans, Baucus plans to unveil his bill Wednesday, and he hopes Republicans are with him. Such a bargain could mark a turning point for Obama's top domestic priority.

Mandatory health insurance, draconian taxes, fees, and fines — what’s not for Democrats to love??

Sadly, he’s probably right - some Republicans are gonna love it, too....

It’d be ironic if the moonbats in the house were the ones who killed this bill. Sadly I think they’ll fall into line because Obama has to have something he can sign.

>>Now its 50 Million uninsured.<<

Guess they didn’t get the memo. That number goes up as Saturday’s count goes down.

That fact that there are Republicans looking for a “compromise” bill of any sort is enough to turn my stomach.

Let the Democrats own this, you fools!

The guy doesn’t get it. No way that Obama signs any bill that does not give him complete control over the citizens healthcare.
This is all about power and control not healthcare.

30 million- 50 million- When you’re used to stealing billions and trillions, you kinda lose track.

I disagree. Liberals have always been patient - looking to take power (and take away freedom) a little at a time. If President Obama can get something passed in order to move the ball forward and increase his poll numbers at the same time, he will run to sign it. Then in the future (like the next week), the liberals will begin working to move the ball a little further toward socialism.

Conservatives need to take a lesson from this. Those who insist on taking us back to the exact framework of the Constitution tomorrow (or they will oppose whatever is being proposed) can hurt the cause. Anything that moves the ball back down the field toward our goal is good. Not perfect, but good.

It looks like Baucus is back to including the illegal aliens that Obama, in his address to Congress, tossed under the bus.

Consumer-driven health care is the only way to go. It will be a big change for most, but that, combined with tort reform, is the only thing that will drive costs down.

The Baucus Bill:

Ends the Health Insurance Plans of 8 million Americans with HSA/HDHP coverage.

Leaves it up to the administration to decide whether abortions shall be funded.

And, please correct me if in error, has no mechanism for checking illegal immigrant status.

"draconian taxes"

Oh, yeah, that's a big one I forgot. More taxes from Senator Tax Baucus (D-MT).

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:

At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Remember the day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!

THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOS! ALL supported by Senator Obama.

So when you want to blame Bush...

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!
