ABC News Was Misquoted on Crowd Size
ABC News Reported D.C. Rally Size in Tens of Thousands, Not 1M to 1.5M as Activist Said.
Conservative activists, who organized a march on the U.S. Capitol today in protest of the Obama administration's health care agenda and government spending, erroneously attributed reports on the size of the crowds to ABC News.
Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, the group that organized the event, said on stage at the rally that ABC News was reporting that 1 million to 1.5 million people were in attendance.
At no time did ABC News, or its affiliates, report a number anywhere near as large.

We’ll never really know the true number, actually...but it was a LOT...and the left is still stinging. They’ve already lost the war but will refuse to surrender...kinda like the Japanese in WWII.
I have another “funny” name for a liberal...but it’s bad, I’ll warn you...
Cass Sunstein = Sass Cumstain
Please forgive me mods, I had to say it...
would have been nice if Air Force One went for a joyride photo op and took some pictures. Oh well, can’t have everything.
Bottom line, the Democrat party views the majority of Citizens as their enemy.
In his own words, Obama is fighting the American people. This is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
its more than citizens. Its the Taxpayers. I am not simply a citizen, and this stance has been forced upon me by the criminals in power, but a Citizen Taxpayer.
Let them try and run a country composed of nothing but the people they want to give my hard earned money too. Lets see what sort of programs they have. Show me what sort of benefits they’ll have without our support.
Charity is voluntary. I’ll give to who i damn well please.
I’m guessing 300-350.
ya THINK?!??!?!
They are also using the reasoning of two year-olds:
If I pretend I don't see it, it doesn't exist...
Seems they lost their courage to insult Americans.
Size really doesn’t matter.
It never did to me anyway.
I walked around most of the area after most of the crowd had assembled on the mall. The crowd stretched from the Capitol to about 200 hundred yards shy of the hill leading up to the Washington Monument.
How the Park Service estimates crowd size on the mall
Don't ask me how many people I thought was there. I haven't a clue.
30K....... LOL
Here in SanFran one of the local papers started taking overhead photos to 'freeze' the action and make the counts from them.
They stopped generating verifiable data when it became obvious even to them that the ground reports overestimated the anti-Bush turnouts and vastly underestimated the pro-Bush ones.
I drove down a major highway to work this week, and I saw someone with an Obama Bumper sticker .. “Got Hope?”
It was on the ass end of a 50,000 dollar vehicle. The driver looked like an Acorn-hustling-Scumbag.
Got Hope? F@ck yeah .... and I'm keeping my money, the communists driving their 50K cars can eat sh!t.
Long, long ago, when I was just a teenage college student, I worked at ABC in New York for the summer. The program was called “Vacation Relief”, and was widely known as a way for ABC executives’ kids such as myself to get real working experience while in school.
Anyway, one day I was watching raw footage come into the newsroom. The footage was of a protest against apartheid in South Africa, and was shot IN South Africa. I saw approximately...oh...70-100 people in the raw footage.
When the same footage aired on ABC News that night, they had blown up the frame and the anchor (Jennings? I think it was Jennings) was voicing over something like, “Thousands rallied in South Africa today...”
Well, I don’t know if “thousands rallied” or not, but I can tell you this: the footage they showed was doctored up the wazoo to match their version of the story.
Even before this incident, I looked at MSM news with a jaundiced eye, but after this...if they told me the sun would rise in the east tomorrow, I wouldn’t believe it.

It is interesting that they allowed this crowd to get much closer to the Capitol than they did the Million Man March people.
At first in the thread, it seemed that the American posters were mostly sensible with a few nutsos thrown in, and a lot of British socialist sheeple...but towards the bottom, it seemed there were a lot of British patriots angered at their own country’s socialism, and mostly American lib nutcases...
Photos comparing the Mall after the Inauguration and after yesterday's rally
nutmeg, sorry we missed you yesterday.
LLS
Yep. That’s how it’s done. An aerial view.
