Why did they close bridges and streets..one of the reports said buses were turned away because of the size of the crowd. How large would the crowd have to be before they turn away people and close streets?
They did not close any bridges.
They closed streets around the west side of the Capitol because of the large number of people who were blocking streets - a normal safety measure. Seventh St across the Mall was open to traffic, as were Constitution and Pennsylvania Aves after the crowd marched by.
They never shut the Metro down. If anyone had wanted to attend and was "turned away", they should have parked on the outskirts and taken the Metro in. Metro maps available on the internet.
