“Outlook (Prognosis)
Taking more than 150mg/kg of aspirin can have serious and even deadly results if untreated. For a small adult, that’s roughly equal to taking 20 tablets containing 325mg aspirin. Much lower levels can affect children.

If treatment is delayed or the overdose is large enough, symptoms will continue to get worse. Breathing becomes extremely fast or may stop. Seizures, high fevers, or death may occur.

How well you do depends greatly on how much aspirin your body has absorbed — and how much is flowing through your blood. If you take a large amount of aspirin but come quickly to the emergency room, treatments may help keep your blood levels of aspirin very low. If you do not get to the emergency room fast enough, the level of aspirin in your blood can become dangerously high. “

hmmmmm...

The link is very useful and raises serious questions about timelines, what was done at the first hospital, why he was transferred and what happened during his ‘transfer’ to the other hospital. Most emergency rooms are equipped to handle all overdoses and acute care.

Mob squeezed him; city squeezes widow

John Kass

July 5, 2009

Whether the name of Richie Urso ever makes it into the corruption trial of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich next June is anybody’s guess.

(snip)

“I’m getting ripped off by everybody. By everybody,” Joanne Urso said.

She told me Richie died of a heart attack on the kitchen floor of a girlfriend’s home, on April 15, 2003.

“You should call her,” she said.

So we did. The woman is Mary Ann Dinovo, who works in human resources for the county tax review board, which handles tax appeals for every parcel of real estate in the county.

“He said, ‘What do you got to eat?’ “ recalled Dinovo.

“I’d just made a big tuna salad. He said, ‘Can I have some?’ The TV was on in the kitchen. The fork dropped out of his hand. He said he felt sick and went to the bathroom.”

Minutes later, Richie Urso, his mouth full of tuna salad, was dead at age 61.

“It was karma that we met,” Dinovo said. “We loved to do things together, go to shows, go to Navy Pier. ... He’d always play like he was poor. ‘I’m just a poor truck driver,’ he’d say. Sometimes we’d drive by a piece of property and he’d ask me who owned it.”

Did you help him find out who owned it?

“Absolutely not,” said Dinovo, who said she has not been contacted by federal authorities.

Not sure how accurate this statement is, but it’s interesting. We need some FReeper docs to weigh in.

re: asprin overdose

“If someone has not already answered your question regarding how many 325mg asprin it would take to OD this may help. A lethal dose of ASA is considered to be an amount that exceeds 500mg/kg. This calculates to approximately 1539 325mg tabs or 6173 81 mg tabs. This would be a lethal dose for a 100kg/220 lb. person.I hope this helps.” (end snip)

NEWS ALERT JUST NOW FROM FOX..

Police saying he ‘admitted’ to an overdose. So we are suppose to believe this? I smell BS. I want to see the receipts from all of the aspirin he bought! If the above is to be believed..he had to have swallowed a ton of the stuff to die or have been denied proper care for hours.

LOL!

WHOA!

Mayor: Kelly’s girlfriend is ‘lawyered up’, not talking

Country Club Hills mayor Dwight Welch said this morning that the girlfriend of Christopher Kelly has “lawyered up” and is no longer talking to police investigating the Saturday death of the former top Rod Blagojevich adviser.

He also said police are searching for a man who went to Oak Forest Hospital while Kelly was being treated in the emergency room and claimed to be Kelly’s friend. The man, described by the mayor as a white male with gray hair, sought the keys to Kelly’s Cadillac Escalade, which apparently was used to take Kelly to the hospital......

The girlfriend:

Clarissa Flores Buhelos

“He said Kelly’s girlfriend apparently found him at a Country Club Hills lumberyard and speculated he may have been trying to retrieve items from a storage area.”

Why would you be retrieving something from storage if you’re going to commit suicide?

This gets curioser and curioser.

Probably died due to poor health care. He’d still be alive if he had Obamacare.
