And in the end it was politically stupid beyond belief - it simply plays into the liberal stereotype of conservatives being out-of-control. Moreover, it helps convince the large “middle” that the liberals are right about us. We need less hysterical outbursts, and more reasoned logic - such as the way it is explained above how Obama was lying."

I not only disagree, but disagree strongly. To believe that conservatives are, as you term, "out-of-control" and are pursuing the debate from the moral low ground, one must be willfully blind. When the Speaker of the House refers to American citizens voicing their opinions at town hall meetings as Nazis, how in the world is calling the President a liar (which, by the way, he has been repeatedly documented to be) an act of wretched excess? It is high time some elected official showed the courage to say what is on the mind, an in the hearts, of millions of Americans. Rep. Wilson deserves our thanks and support.

I don't mind people disagreeing with me, but I really prefer they address what I actually wrote. I did not say conservatives are out of control, I said there is a liberal stereotype to that effect. But I appreciate your reasonable tone. We absolutely agree Obama is a liar and those lies must be exposed. We have the moral high-ground: we need to make sure we don't undermine it by playing behaving in a way to lend veracity to Pelosi and company's smears.

To address other posts I received: For those of you who decided to attack me personally - YOU are what's wrong with the conservative movement! I do not yield to any of you in disgust for this president and his lies. I am trying to find effective ways of defeating this healthcare travesty, but because I am not in lock step with you on every detail you attack me personally. Please don't volunteer for any recruitment committees! I was in line last November before the polls opened to vote against this fraud - I wasn't sitting home letting this imposter win because McCain wasn't a "pure" enough conservative. And a post that begins "Oh, f*** off" - very classy; your mother must be so proud.

To those you campared this to the Town-Halls - sorry, no comparison. The purpose of Town Halls is to let the people express their views and when they are stifled from doing that they have every right to act out. Comparing a formal address to a joint session of Congress to a Town Hall is like comparing a state dinner to a family picnic - different expectations of behavior exist.

To those who actually had a cogent point of view in disagreeing with me - thanks! We need as mny ideas as possible and we need to honestly debate them. Yes, the outburst drew attention - and the foreseeable outcome (Wilson's apology) has allowed the press to spin everything to show Obama as a magnanimous leader, graciously accepting the apology. That's not, IMHO, productive.
