Could it possibly - just maybe - be that Beck spends a lot less time talking about his nelly little dog and what wine he had with last night’s dinner?
Just a thought.
I don’t understand this. Does he do a local show too? What does this mean?
losing Savage’s significant salary might also have been a factor.
Too many complaint calls and a spineless ownership is the reason. Libs are probably boycotting all of their sponsors etc. Can’t afford to get rid of Beck.
Is that where he caught rabies?
IMO Savage is tiring of the radio schtick, he’s just going thru the motions.
I think it’s deeper than that. Savage has lost his spark, his desire to do radio. He has made comments in recent weeks that the only reason he hasn’t already quit is so he has a bully pulpit to try to get himself off the UK’s no fly list.
He used to have such a “fire in the belly” that he made you want to listen to the meatball recipes and dog stories but now that his spark is gone, he doesn’t care to be interesting anymore.
Yeah, my hubby would say that savage has been "calling into" his show for the past few years.
The few days I've switched over to see what he's talking about, all I hear him do is whine like a little bitch that 'nobody loves him'. ..not even his fellow conservatives in the media and talk radio.
KNEW will probably plummet in ratings after this since he was their biggest draw, and Wiener (Savage) will end up somewhere else, maybe back home at KSFO.
Savage is a sharp cookie but Levine has just smoked him in that time slot.
“headed in a new direction and a new mind set at this station.”
Sounds like Orwellian newspeak for “don’t want to piss off our new Marxists overlords”.
Almost all of these guys start out local and move to larger markets or syndication as they build an audience. I’m pretty sure this was Savage’s home station. You would think they were getting a significant amount of the syndication fees as the originating station, but maybe not.
He’ll say he wrote a few dozen books and what do they know, plus he went for a boat ride today or talked to a beggar.
Y’know, I think you’re right about that. I give him the occasional listen, since the only thing opposite him here in Houston is a financial call-in show that I don’t find very interesting, and Savage hasn’t had the gonna-go-boom factor he used to have.
I used to listen through what I didn’t much like because I knew it would eventually pay off. It doesn’t seem like that happens much anymore.
Too bad, because at his best he is genuinely entertaining.
His head got really big, and he started believing the he was the story.
He priced himself out of KSFO.
Then he went off the deep end...
I picked that up to.
It's only worth listening to about the first 45 minutes of his show. By then he runs out of steam and starts playing taped interviews.
So it begins.
The funny thing about you saying John and Ken are “L.A. all the way,” is that I first heard them on a station in New Jersey in the early 90s before they went to L.A. It was a very NJ station.
