“We need every single one of you to develop your talents, skills and intellect so you can help solve our most difficult problems. If you don’t do that – if you quit on school – you’re not just quitting on yourself, you’re quitting on your country.”
now why the eff do kids need to hear crap like this? Whether they’re K-6 or 6-12, what’s with this sh*t?
and what does “quit on school” mean? Why not just write/say
“quit school”?

The story of America isn’t about people who quit when things got tough. It’s about people who kept going, who tried harder, who loved their country too much to do anything less than their best.

It’s the story of students who sat where you sit 250 years ago, and went on to wage a revolution and found this nation.

As many other Freepers have pointed out, the “250 years ago” thing is just weird. So I googled events of 1759 and saw this eye-catching thingy:
http://tripatlas.com/Germantown_Union_School established in 1759
be sure to see the notable alumni, which includes a guy named Roberts who was appointed by FDR(poop be upon him 4 ever)to the US Supreme Court and so on and so forth

I didn’t see the movie, but wasn’t that a phrase from “Brokeback Mountain”? “I ain’t quitting you?”
