As a parent I can predict what will happen in many households:
PARENT: How was school today?
CHILD: OK
PARENT: Anything interesting happen?
CHILD: No.
PARENT: I heard the President was going to talk to you.
CHILD: (Silence)
PARENT: Well, did he?
CHILD: What?
PARENT: Did the President speak to your class?
CHILD: I guess so.
PARENT: Yes, or no?
CHILD: Yes
PARENT: What did he say?
CHILD: I don-no.
PARENT: Well, did your teacher say anything about it?
CHILD: About what?
PARENT: The President’s speech!!
CHILD: I guess so.
PARENT: What did she/he say?
CHILD: Who?
PARENT: Your teacher!
CHILD: What about my teacher?

Too much has been made about this thing and those fifteen minutes. The real issue and the real danger comes in those other 179 days of the year with kids learning things like homosexuality from the public school curriculum.
The only discrimination I see in this country is against conservative blacks and whites, and Christians. Obama is playing the affirmative action liberal guilt card to these kids.

This is not a bad speech. I believe both of us have given a similar speech to our children.
I just don’t think it is the president’s job to tell kids to behave in school and work hard.
Where Obama lived, in the Chicago area, he saw many fatherless children. Maybe he feels compelled to be a father to all children.
The welfare system is so messed up that young mothers (I have 2 in my class) do not want to marry thier “baby daddy” because they get a check for being a single mom. This way the government becomes the provider of the family, and now Obama wants to be the wise father of all as well.
Nice Speech Barack, give it to your own children.
I’ll give my own speech to mine.
We don’t need community organizers to teach our children how to behave.
