Are you suggesting that Palin doesn't understand (and champion!) that the US is a republic?

I would suggest that the thought being communicated in those sentences (having no clue as to the context) is the last statement "Democracy depends on you." - which is true, don't you agree?

Some advice: sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Don't be a nitpicker.
