Beck has been going overboard lately. I basically agree with most of his positions, but he’s taken to expressing them in the a way that smacks of paranoia and dogmatism. He comes across as desperate, fearful, and lacking objectivity, and that doesn’t help promote his message. Sure, many of the already-converted cheer him on, but they’re not the ones who need to be reached with the content of the message. He also doesn’t sound particularly sincere, but more like he’s acting — exaggerating his emotional tone to get attention and ratings. He’s sounding a bit like a televangelist, trying to build up fear in viewers that millions of souls will burn in hell for eternity unless you “send money to this important ministry today”.
I caught a few minutes of Beck last weekend, and it was like listening to Susan Estrich. You don’t really care what she’s saying, because the tone is so bizarre and unpleasant that you instinctively want to disagree with her, without even considering the specific content.
yuk!
What the hell is the matter with you. America is in so much trouble that it will take serious Constitutional loving people to speak out. You obviously have a problem and if you don’t like Beck, then go somewhere else and don’t watch. Beck is emotional and he has reason to be.
It's only paranoia if it isn't true -- Glenn is playing us video/audio of these Commie/Marxist/Socialists in their own words, they failed to learn the lesson of Nixon: never let it be recorded on tape.
Everything people warned about back last fall is coming to pass, there is no infiltration of the White House here, 0bama's own *good friend* said they recruited Jones to his position. The only reason Ayres didn't get a presidential appointment is that he was discovered, uncovered before Election Day -- any coincidence that his partner in the Weather Underground, Jeff Jones, did get the presidential appointment?
I'd like to get Colin Powell on record, ask him how he feels having an avowed Communist in the White House advising the president -- just what does that say about 0bama's judgment, eh Powell? And McCain, he told people at one of his campaign rallies they had nothing to worry about in an 0bama presidency, "He's a good man" -- what is his take on the discovery that C/M/S are all in the highest levels of the administration, their plan to fundamentally transform this nation, "Change the system!" spelled out in no uncertain terms, no problem with that?
I agree that Glenn has been emotional lately, but it doesn't really bother me. He's a good person. The mainstream media doesn't complain about Olbermann, who is a hateful, despicable, and ruthless person on Obama's side.
You are watching a different Glenn Beck than I am.
” He comes across as desperate, fearful, and lacking objectivity, and that doesnt help promote his message.”
Dravo!
You have repeated the loony left talking points from Daily Kos and DUmmyland with great aplomb.
The Glenn Beck I see, shows no fear of anybody, sounds quite comfortable with himself, is full of fun and vigour, has a great sense of humor(You should see his “Happy birthday “tribute” to 0bama. It was a hoot!) and looks like a really happy guy to me.
He “lacks objectivity” huh?
Listen, his program is not a news program. It's a program about his opinions. If you wanna see the point of view of Van Jones, the communist, you can always go watch MSNBC, no?
You are wrong, my advice, don’t listen to or watch Glenn. Now that should take care of your problem with Glenn.
