While drunk on your own self righteous clarity you are blissfully unaware of your own bigotry to make such an statement.

And to use Wash Post Politico like some revelation.

As a Hispanic I do feel a bit discouraged sometimes when I see that there are so many of us who feel disenfranchised and so few of us running for office, and I would love to see other people of color (especially conservative ones) get more involved in politics. I believe there is a vast pool of untapped conservative political talent out there because certain demographics of people just decide not to get involved. I apologize if this sounds like racism or a desire for some sort of minority rule. I honestly don't believe that; I believe that the best person for the job should always get the job, but that currently we are not getting all the best people we can because of a general feeling of discouragement among Latinos.

As a Hispanic

ah there's the run....see, you fall for identity politics same as crackers do.

why is it ok for you to be latino and proud but I as a southern white boy have to embrace diversity for diversity's sake?

spoken by someone once married to a latino and who has raised two daughters from said ex wife , neither of whom embrace diversity compulsiveness

i will grant you though that folks tend to seek their own the world over, only in the west do we attempt to include everyone ad nauseum but the majority..why?...who knows it's like a malaise ..like some widespread medieval ergot panic

but if you must , you could always moved to Miami and hang out with older generation Cubans and Colombians and Nicaraguans...when I lived there I found them to be very conservative. then they ran Miami more than any other group

general feeling of discouragement among Latinos.

but why is that?

outside of south Florida and parts of Texas, the vast majority of them vote just like blacks

conservative folks should not have to be pandered to

regardless of race if you believe in God, hate infanticide, believe in the second amendment, fiscal discipline, strong foreign policy and think traditional families rule then you know where you're home is...

The choice is so stark and the GOP loves latinos who share their views and who can win elections

The rub is immigration because most latinos including Cubans think first with identity as latino rather than American and simply wish amnesty for fellow latinos even though any heritage line outside language from Cubans or Colombians to Mexicans is laughable.

So if they vote for skin-ethnicity over common sense then who's the bigot. Them or folks that want a secure border and manageable legal immigration?

You tell me?

Re post 51.

I'm a Mick who follows history. Ethnic politics among us gave us the Tweed machine, the Kennedy, and inner city bosses across the country. Corruption. We still see it on occasion in judicial elections and in some areas. "That's a good Irish name. I'll vote for Murphy."

In Detroit, black power and white liberalism gave us a city that dropped from 1.8 million to 900,000, no jobs, and high crime. Ethnic politics has killed us there.

I don't know which ethnicity of Hispanic you are, but if you want to see more of your own become active, I suggest you get active in your local GOP. You'll probably be welcomed there, as they are usually scrapped for people. You can then be the example in your neighborhood to break the stereotype. "Darren's involved, and he's not rich, and he's educated. Why does he support them?" I can then go into detail to what I support.

That's how we get the independents, and it is in a non-pandering fashion.
