Did the rig explosion and current oil spill happen in the Tiber Prospect which discovery was reported in 2009? Here's a freeper thread from that time.

Nope two different locations......

The oil spill is located in the block entitled "MC" [Mississippi Canyon] which is just above the word LOWER.

The Tiber was in the Keathley Canyon which is more west or about due south of the Texas/Louisiana border.

You really want to see what the Gulf of Mexico looks like from a drilling standpoint. The following link will give you a prespective of just how huge it is in terms of leases, etc.
