Let's be thankful for that.
I have known lots of people who fall into this sterotype. Most galling was one guy I used to work with (Ted). Ted had been saying for years how he and his wife were saving up a nest egg so they could afford to have a child. Both Ted and his wife worked and had good jobs, so I could never understand “affording a child” was a big issue. I pointed out that I had two kids and my wife didn’t work (and I made about the same as Ted). Then one day, Ted drives into work with a new Audi. After I complemented him on his car, he told me that they’d decided to buy a car instead of have a child. I moved on, but don’t think Ted ever had any kids. Hopeless.
