I’m going to have to look into his role at Waco sometime. I heard he was there but can’t recall reading any specifics of what he did there (maybe nothing for all I know).

Lon killed one person. The crew already on the site from the very beginning killed 2 ~ the boy, and the deputy sheriff.
He did bad enough as it is, but don't blame him for all the murders.
Richard Rogers really blew this ~ and I kind of wonder where he's hiding out these days and what names he's using. Do you imagine he might have gotten plastic surgery or something.

Richard Rogers really blew this... Was he the Hollywood wannabe creep with the greasy, slicked back hair that did all the TV interviews calling Koresh and the Davidians names?

I was thinking of Robert Ricks.

I just tried, and you can't find a single picture of Bob Ricks on the web, or Lon Horiuchi for that matter.
It couldn't be that the Feds have scrubbed them all, could it?

Notice how the only connection Bob indicates to the FBI is "FBINA, Ex-Agents of the FBI?"
It's like he's ashamed of what he did or something.

During the administration of George H. W. Bush. His response was to publically denounce the NRA and rescind his Life Membership. Of course he didn't directly mention this article but it was just one of several NRA articles exposing heavy handed FedGov tactics. Do I need to say that GHWB was a one-termer?

The version of the story I heard held that the shotguns' barrel length was, in fact, over 18 inches and legal. Failing to entrap Weaver on that, the ATF resorted to a lesser-known restriction on
total length, under which the shotguns did fall.
Unmentioned in all this is that the Feds were trying to turn Weaver into an agent who would infiltrate the Aryan Nations, one of the white supremacist organizations that the media were claiming pervaded northern Idaho. Weaver was not, actually one of them - he differentiated between separatism and supremacy, a distinction which may not mean much to the SPLC but meant a great deal to the Aryan Nations.
And so an attempt at legal blackmail turned into a case of legalized murder on the part of the federal government. Weaver was, in the end, awarded a multi-million dollar settlement, cold comfort for a dead wife and son and time spent in prison.

I always wondered why he would have cut the barrels too short.
Now I know the answer is that he didn't.
The Branch Davidians were raided over a tax issue. You need to purchase a $200 tax stamp to install an autosear in a semi-auto firearm.
The Feds murdered 86 people over a $200 tax.

That event cost GHWB the 1992 election, even moreso than the "Read my lips, no new taxes" phrase.

There's also a great book, The First Canary, written by one of Randy Weaver's neighbors.

His response was to publically denounce the NRA and rescind his Life Membership. I don't think he did that until several years later.

...clinton was the mastermind of this fiasco...
Clinton was elected in November 1992.
The Ruby Ridge event was August 1992.
Most years, August comes before November.

iT WAS NOT IN THE bUSH ADMINISSTRATION...clinton was the mastermind of this fiasco... You're going to have a hard time making that case, given that the Ruby Ridge situation occurred five months before Bill Clinton took office.
