There is cause to worry, we agree. And you’ve raised an important distinction.
The underlying question, though, is whether we are now in an era or environment where the reply to any of these issues is “so what?” Are we now under a regime where the cult of 0bama’s personality outweighs *any* Constitutional provisions? If that’s the case, we are truly hosed, because the historical precedents for concern are many and well founded. We’re just going to have to hold our collective breaths (not advocating passivity) to see if the populace ultimately ratifies this new (for the US) mechanism of governance. As I see it, it’s a race between the competing forces of the economic squeeze/collapse versus the cries for help from a traumatized population. Now it’s our side which finds ourselves in hopey changeland. I’m optimistic, but I don’t underestimate the cornered animal we face. It’s in effect a reminder of how good we have it to see how many fronts this enemy can find to attack and destroy.

If the cult of Obama outweighs constitutional provisions we lose the provisions, 1st Amendment, 2nd Amendment, which protect us. We lose the structure of our government including separation of powers. The inevitable law suits by former owners of GM, Chrysler, Lehman, and others will have no meaning; nor eventually will contract law. Personality rather than the constitution will guide our military, now sworn not to defend and obey the president and commander in chief, but to defend the constitution. Cap and trade will destroy our international competitiveness. Obama’s health-care will eliminate the costs associated with retired people. Obama has, according to state department records, initiated a massive influx of Muslims using a presidential directive to help Palestinians resettle in the U.S. Do we doubt that they, many if not most of whom are Hamas, Hizbollah, or sympathetic to them, that they will constitute part of Obama's internal militia? Without a constitution to protect us the change will be whatever Obama wants it to be. I don't think that will happen without a struggle.
