I did the same thing in the last census. They actually sent a census worker to my home (a Chinese national who barely spoke English) to get the form filled out face to face. After nearly an hour on my front porch the only additional information he received was my race.

After reviewing and rejecting all of the possible choices on his list I created a new one. Since there was a Pacific Islander category and I am of British ancestry and my wife of Irish I stated the race of the inhabitants of our home to be "Atlantic Islanders" which he dutifully entered on his form.

When it comes to “Race”, I always check “other” and then write in “Human”. Hey, I answered the question, and I challenge you to prove me wrong!
