Bah! Doesn't work that way. Anyone who thinks you can wallow in sin continuously for your entire life, then offer a heart felt confession in their last days or day is sadly mistaken.

Guess you never heard of the good thief.

There are other circumstances in play in the case of the good thief. It was a very unusual circumstance that he was extremely fortunate to be in.

Christ was able to offer forgiveness for all his sins, offer eternal life and the good thief was able to live the rest of his life (go and sin no more).. all at once. His confession was sincere.
