Bite me Byrd. Name a Sewer Plant after the turd.
“Good. That will sink it.”
Yeah, attaching Ted Kennedy’s name to this bill is not a very good marketing strategy, and Obama’s advisors surely know this, so I don’t think Robert Byrd’s idea will get much traction at all. It’s too bad really, because it would make it a little easier to put a stop to it.
Considering that there are 3 bills in the House and 1 in the Senate, are they going to rename all of them or wait until it gets to Obama’s desk and he will then stroke out the title with something honoring a Palm Beach bum?
Why name the bill after a guy who ddid everything he could to seek out the best healthcare available to prolong his life, to a plan that would supplant and ration care out to ALL Americans at a reduced efficiency and higher cost to ALL Americans???
It flies in the face of everything that Kennedy did to sustain his life...
We should all be expected to be just like Ted Kennedy in this endeavour!!!
” . . . Obamas advisors surely know this. . . .”
Let’s not give the Obama White House too much credit for smarts.
Byrd is a SENILE old man who has a building or bridge or roadway named after him in (nearly) EVERY County in Virginia.
He needs to be retired.
“Lying Weasel Health Care Bill”. Sounds good to me!
Rename Obamacare for Big Major, the old pig that dies at the beginning of Animal Farm and leads the animals to engage in Socialist Revolution in his honor.
Let’s keep an eye on the taxes paid by the Kennedy Estate.
Rush Limbaugh predicted this and the Dems were terribly upset about it at the time.
Rush was right, as usual.
Limbaugh: Healthcare bill will be named in Kennedy’s memory
March 9, 2009
http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2009/03/limbaugh_health.html
“Continuing his criticism of President Obama, Limbaugh said Obama is failing to fix the economy “so he’s moved on to healthcare. This is highly visible, it’s news-leading, gets a great focus, plus it has the great liberal lion, Teddy Kennedy, pushing it.”
“Before it’s all over, it’ll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Healthcare bill,” Limbaugh said on his show.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee quickly launched a petition drive urging Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele to denounce Limbaugh.
The “Dead Ted Bill” has a certain appeal...
Stick 0bamadeathcare in that car and sink it!
Oh please. Ted is no Michael Jackson. MJ actually had talent (despite what some Freepers have implied). Ted contributed little of value to the average American life that would personalize his death to them.
The media didn’t have anything to do with what happened after MJ died. The public for better or worse made the decision to respond as they did. In this case the public doesn’t care about the Kennedy’s as they used to. Camelot died long ago...with JFK Jr. And even he couldn’t produce the hysteria that followed MJ.
Kennedy’s death holds significance to only the political set and maybe to people over 50 who remember Camelot but most of those people aren’t going to change their mind on this bill because Ted died as they are the ones who would be most effected by the legislation.
So bring on WellStone 2. Changes nothing for the public.
