Indeed. The joy tonight is not only knowing that he died without seeing his dream enacted - indeed, knowing that the odds against it were growing and that his selfishness might well be the thing to sink it in the end - but also in knowing that he suffered. Sometimes the world is a just place. He deserved so much more, alas.
