There was a spontaneous laugh from the crowd and then an, aw come on, do you think we are that stupid? reaction. (Would the response be yes for the astroturfers who cheered for the answer?)
There were people coming in from different entrances. I was steered into one door. Unfortunately that door didn't let me see the table with the boxes where questions needed to be submitted before the town hall started. There were 3 boxes: for, against, undecided. Questioners were to be selected from these boxes. So many people in the meeting never even had a chance to ask a question because they were not aware of the question boxes until it was too late. The astroturfers with the pre-printed Obamacare signs all seemed to know about the boxes...
One lady that was chosen didn't even know what her question was. She needed to read it from the paper.
I was at the meeting also, and knew nothing about the question boxes until Moran stated that questions would be taken from the boxes instead of directly from the crowd. It really slowed down the process, since Moran had to read the name of the questioner from the paper and then wait for the person to respond and head for a microphone. After listening to Moran and Dean run their mouths for an hour and a half(at least Dean kept it short), there was little time left for questions.
Thanks for your eyewitness account. Very telling.
