Nevada Senator Harry Reid meets with (from right to left) Wayne La Pierre, CEO of the National Rifle Association, Chris Cox the Executive Director of the NRA-ILA and Larry Keane, Senior Vice President of the National Sports Shooting Foundation, after delivering remarks at the Clark County Shooting Park opening.
The worlds largest and most comprehensive shooting range opens in North Las Vegas. The massive range and support facilities cost 60 million dollars to construct. The worlds largest and most advanced shooting range officially opened today in North Las Vegas with a host of dignitaries. The 60 million dollar Clark County Shooting Park is both large and comprehensive, designed to attract not only locals, but shooting enthusiasts from around the world.
Nevadas politicians came to praise the facility along with the NRA, National Rifle Association. Nevada Senator Harry Reid spoke today at the opening ceremony for the Clark County Shooting Park. Reid was instrumental in securing land and more than $60 million in funding for the park.
Senator Reid had this to say opening the Shooting Park, I appreciate the work of all those from Clark County, of sportsmen and sportswomen from across our state, of local law enforcement officials, and of everyone else who has shared this goal, Reid said. Nevadans aimed high when we set out to create the largest and most advanced shooting range in the world. But we kept a steady eye on our target. And today, with great pride, Nevada has hit the bulls-eye. Senator Reid's comments where part of a press release in the afternoon. Wayne La Pierre, CEO of the National Rifle Association and other NRA members also attended todays opening ceremony.
In the same release for the office of Senator Reid it quoted Wayne La Pierre,"I am proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with Senator Reid in our fight to protect the Second Amendment, La Pierre said. I can tell you no one has been a stronger advocate for responsible gun ownership than him. I am proud to join him today at this world-class facility. We wouldn't be here without his vision and hard work.
The other dignitaries attending included: Shooting Park Manager Don Turner, County Manager Virginia Valentine, Commissioner Tom Collins, Senator John Ensign, Rep. Shelley Berkley, Commission Chairman Rory Reid, Senator John Lee, and Governor Jim Gibbons.
Oh much of the land this was built on was previously owned by Dopey Harry’s son?
Dingy Harry ain’t gonna be saved by the NRA this time around....I hope....

Wayne LaPierre should learn and practice this.
Goodbye to the Front Sight shooting academy.
This is great, open one of the biggest shooting ranges just when there ain’t enough ammo to be had to go shoot with.
Thank you and goodbye.
North Las Vegas? Isn’t that whole “city” a shooting range?
Are you seriously complaining about this facility?
Thanks NRA. It will be nice to visit Las Vegas and go shooting with just a cab ride away.
“Goodbye to the Front Sight shooting academy.”
Front Site will still exist. It’s geared totally towards firamrs training of all kinds.
Pulleeze, I’ve been to Front Sight and the tactical training my son and I received was excellent. Will be returning.
Been there, done that.
How long will Front Sight exist after this facility is opened?
Yes, it is excellent but I don’t see it continuing after this facility is opened and so close to Las Vegas.
There is a public range in Dallas that offers just as good instruction as the top schools. You really don’t have to travel across the country to learn to shoot.
The Paul Bunyan club in Puyallup, Wa is bigger...and there's another within 10 miles nearly as large.
There is a difference between acreage and building facility square footage.
Not at all, just the irony of opening right in the middle of an ammo shortage.
Chucky holds the gun like a girlie man.
That's why prior planning prevents poor performance and ammo shortages.
