Actually Ortiz is beginning to lose in in his home county (Nueces). The Rio Grande Valley is growing. After the next census, the southern part of the district will be split off to add a new congressional district. Nueces County will then have much more influence in its realigned district. I good Republican showing in Nueces county in 2010 could help make the case to the legislature to design a Republican leaning 27th district for 2012.

So what do you think of the idea? Clever. Do you know if Duerr is going to have some sort of PA system set up so that everyone will be able to listen in on the Ortiz conference call - and hoot and holler at the appropriate times? It would be great for Ortiz to hear catcalls in the background from the assembled multitude if someone in the meeting is able to get through.
I sat through one of these phone townhalls with my rep Kevin Brady(R) several days ago. I was on the phone for 30 - 45 minutes. It sounded more like a Medicare/Medicaid rally than an gripe session on socialized medicine(I couldn't help but note the irony). I couldn't WAIT to get on the line but, alas. The good news I suppose is NOBODY that spoke(around 15 or so I'd guess) wanted anything to do with odingacare. Neither did Brady.

The Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center has a powerful PA system, but the building does suffer from bad acoustics. It was originally a cotton warehouse.
Here's a larger logo image.

“Wheres SwinneySwitch?
He was getting home from a TX-15 Town Hall in Beeville. There were about 60 patriots there by my count.
Rep. Hinojosa (D) wasn't there but they had a large picture of him at the front table we could ask questions about ObamaCare and the Economy. Eddie Zamora (R) from Hidalgo CO. was there to field the questions.
Hinojosa also has at least one democrat running against him in the 2010 primary.
