I believe some Freeper predicted this would happen in a satirical posting.
There is a section of Cap and Trade which makes it illegal to repair appliances after five years. The Maytag repairman won’t just be lonely, he may be in solitary.
This happened to me many years back: a friend of mine and I would sit in the coffee shop exploring the most bizarre and unfeasible rules/laws which the State/Feds could impose on us... and low and behold they did.
