New Addington's most dedicated smoker is celebrating her 102nd birthday with a big bash.
Beatrice Langley has been enjoying cigarettes since the age of eight, and when she reached the big 100 she vowed not to quit.
She has enjoyed over 168,000 fags in her lifetime but has yet to feel any ill effects from her habit.
To celebrate the pensioner's birthday on August 27, her nursing home in Frylands Court, Hutchingsons Road, has organised a garden party to take place on Sunday.
But Ms Langley said turning another year older wasn't something she was looking forward to.
She added: "All I want to do is wind back time, but I know the lunch will be nice."
Manager Ken Easton paid tribute to the care home's oldest resident.
He said: "Beatrice is a real character and she is still as feisty as she was when I first started here seven years ago.
"You can sit down and have a chat with her and she's still really on the ball. She is marvellous."
The garden party, which runs from 2pm to 4pm, will include a raffle and food, as well as a visit from New Addington councillor Brenda Kirby.

Now that I said that, I’ll probably be diagnosed with leukemia, Lou Gehrig’s disease or be killed by a terrorist attack tomorrow.
I have tried to search out newer statistics on smoking and lung cancer a few times. They just can't be found. The same thing is true if you look for numbers on how many women are injured or die from abortions. Those numbers are nowhere to be found. Yet there are statistics on how many women died of illegal abortions from about 1940 - 1980. Now isn't that odd?
Lying frigging liberals have taken over government, industry and academia to an extent none of us can fully imagine.
I think, then, I'll take up smoking ... just so I can join the advocates of freedom.
I don't think I'll make it to that age. My latest addiction is Lays' kettle cooked Jalapeno potato chips..

When this “health care for all” crap passes, right now the legislation states that it will be illegal to sell private policies over the date of passage. It also says that HSA’s will no longer be allowed. That means that my current policy will no longer be allowed and neither I nor my employer will be allowed to privately purchase an alternative.
