The more I read on this, the more confused I’m getting.
The test I got in HS and again in boot camp might well have been mis-named the Shick test. It consisted of a drop of fluid on the skin followed be a device which produced several (6?) pin pricks that just broke the skin. In HS I got it on the fore arm and in boot camp on the upper arm near my small pox vaccination mark.

What you are describing is the classic Tine test for TB, not the Schick test. The Mantoux test, which is a single intradermal injection not a series of pricks, replaced the Tine test in the early 60’s and is still the gold standard for detecting prior or occult TB infection.
