Looking at the map, the epicenter is much closer to Taiwan.

Luke 21:11 (KJV) "And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven."

I've always wondered what "divers places" meant--down in the ocean, or 'diverse' places around the world?

To: Brian Mosely; a fool in paradise

We felt it here in Reno. The one armed bandits started spilling out silver dollars, and I got to grab me some, until the security guys showed up, and guess what, they all too started filling their pockets themselves. I walked out of there rich, anyhow.

The ring of fire seems increasingly active of late...

We live ten miles from the lower portion of the infamous San Andreas fault here in the California desert -- and it's been getting a bit uppity of late.

The state did it's version of Obamacare regarding earthquake insurance also.........regulated all the private providers into a state of non-competitiveness, so we're hosed.

Two months ago, at renewal with an insurer, we had an option of renewing at a premium of $1700 -- which wouldn't kick in until we'd had $85,000 worth of destruction -- or the State Fund, at a premium of "only" $1000 or so, and a deductible of "only" 40K.

Although I spent most of my time in Taipei, I really enjoyed Taiwan, too. I really enjoyed being able to walk ‘most anywhere at night — and I found the nighttime “street markets” to be a real treat...
