I turned all of my guns in at one of those programs to get guns off the street.
I couldn’t bear the fact that if I sold the guns, someone might actually own them instead of having them put in a crusher.
It was great. They gave me McDonald’s gift certificates in return, no questions asked, and I was free of my guns forever.

THAT’S GREAT!
But guns still scare me, are dangerous and a menace to a lawful society, I got rid of them, and am now on the side of the gun-grabbers...:)

Just curious - what is the make of your AR-15? (Mine carries the same warning). Basically, there seem to be a few problems with Wolf ammo (and the like). First, they are tough on the ejector mechanism. Second, they tend to have hard primers, sometimes known to fracture firing pins. Finally, the steel cases that they use are sprayed with a polymer to inhibit rusting. Once your weapon gets hot, the polymer melts and gets into every working part of your gun.

I forgot to mention that I bought the old pistol 50 years ago and never thought to check out what kind it actually is, until now.

I agree with your tagline! I was hoping to make the Obamament's "watch list." It's good to know who your enemies are and let them know as well.

I don't remember the details on why manufacturers don't like Wolf ammo. Here's a good article at The Box-O-Truth about it though -
http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu18.htm.
We had a certain quantity of the Wolf .223 ammo around until using it all up for basic marksmanship. I've personally seen the lacquered case Wolf .223 BADLY stick an AR-15. The one I saw tore the rim off the cartridge casing and we had to beat the stuck case out with a rod. The batch of Wolf polymer coated .223 ammo only cycled the 20" AR-15s about 80% of the time (short stroke), and they had noticeably less recoil and noise. They cycled the AR carbines every time though.
I read TOO much bad "stuff" about it and when we ran out, we didn't buy any more.

I can neither confirm nor deny any rumors of me and firearms. I was trained to hit targets only if there is a foreward observer watching where my rounds hit. If I can see my target, then I am way too close for comfort!

Close but no cigar! My rounds weigh 110 lbs each and use aprox 20-30 lbs of powder to fire down range. The cal. is 155 mm or 6.1 inches.
For I am a loud & proud cannon cocker! A good crew of MARINES on a M109A3 can set & fire within 90 seconds!
