Still makes me mad that the Clinton Administration went after those groups like they did. They claim they got rid of them all but what they actually did was send those groups more underground making infiltration impossible. I’m talking about those few groups that really are a danger to all. Now in order to stop them we have to wait for them to attack.

The militias formed partly because of Ruby Ridge and Waco but the fuel for the continued development, the veritable explosion of the phenomenon was the pervasive fear that the Clinton government was going to do a total gun confiscation. The libs of the time were all discussing that goal and were promising to finally accomplish it, not in big speeches, but in their publications and their conventions. It reached a peak in September of 1994 and began to slack off just a bit in October as the mood began to change as people began to think the Republicans would gain in November. It evanesced when the Republicans got control of Congress in Newt's revolution.

Through the 2nd half of 1993 and up to the 1994 election the price of military grade used rifles increased steadily as they became harder and harder to find. An M1 Garand that could be bought for $250=300 in 1992 was hard to find at $1500 in September 1994. In December I saw several for under $400.
