Here's an article linking Euphrates river flow to North Atlantic Oscillation. The lead author Cullen made the infamous statement that weathermen who deny global warming should have their credentials revoked. However, this paper seems free of those sorts of politics. It doesn't explain how NAO varies, that is not very predictable.

The signs were seen countless times in history... everytime they were wrong. I don't see why this is any different today.

I've always believed any end-of-the-world predictions up until the 1940's were meaningless. To me, the events depicted in Revelations simply could not occur without a weapon so fearsome and destructive that it could literally fulfill the battles depicted there. We now have that ability in the atomic bomb. For the first time in human history, Mankind can wipe out entire cities and even entire countries, something unthinkable until the 20th century.

While the drying up of the Euphrates may be coincidence, there is little doubt we now have the ability to make the final battle of Revelation come true, which puts us much closer to fulfilling prophesy. In addition, also in the 20th century, the state of Israel was re-born after 2000 years, something that was also predicted in the Bible as a precursor to the end times.

We live in interesting times, that's for sure.
