The astrologers you are talking to are noticing that Obama has some very tough aspects in November, and the 16th does look inauspicious for him.
That said, no astrologer can predict exactly WHAT will happen on any particular date, only WHEN the difficult aspects will affect any particular chart.
As Quix will confirm, the bible is pretty definite about not using astrology for “prophecy”. It is fine to understand that there is a time for everything under heaven, and to “wonder” at the timing of the aspects as these relate to events in our lives, but it is very wrong to predict anything specifically, for we cannot ever know the mind of God.
Ask your friends what aspects they are considering, and ask for the basic symbolism of the planets involved. Tell them to lay off the prophecy stuff for it gives astrology a bad name, and is not how it is properly used.

I believe that the Bible goes further than that . . . and says to have
NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH
ASTROLOGY, FORTUNE TELLING, SOOTHSAYERS, PALMREADERS, NUMEROLOGY, WITCHCRAFT, ETC.
I don’t tell folks my ‘star sign.’
When someone wishes me luck, I usualy reply with something like
“Thanks for the kind wishes. However, I prefer the Blessings of The Lord God Almighty over the Goddess of luck.
So, you can see, I have strong opinions and practices about such things.
