The Obama administration has launched a new Web site to battle what it calls "wild rumors" about the health care reform plans being pushed through Congress -- including an invitation for the public to tattle on any other "myths" they come across.
It comes a week after the White House asked the public to send in "fishy" information about health care reform.
The Web site, activated Monday, uses the same set-up as the "Fight the Smears" page the Obama campaign maintained last year to battle rumors seen as potentially damaging to his candidacy.
The new "Reality Check" site features a half-dozen alleged rumors about health care reform, responding to them with videos of top aides rebutting them.
"We're offering the site and tools to empower individuals across the country to take this content into their own hands and share it among their networks," a senior administration official said.

I just heard Linda Douglass say the rumors were false in many cases.”
Linda Douglas has drunk so much Kool Aid with NObama that she should be turning cherry color within another month or so. Can she be prosecuted for these lies??
The stock value of Kool Aid must have been leading the stock market for the past week or so.
Here’s a good rumor:
Why have mandatory counseling session for seniors every five years? It cannot really be to update your living will. The massive bureaucratic support structure is disproportionate to the “problem.”
What is the real reason? Well every 5 years each senior will receive a list of the additional life-saving treatments to which he will no longer have any legal access, not even at his own expense. Any sensible person would expect a certain amount of flipping out to occur and a the big bureaucracy would probably be needed to deliver the necessary counseling, sedatives, and strait jackets.
you guys looked at the website? i dont see anything there about spying on other people or turning people in, or even fishy stuff. am i missing something?
seems pretty tame to me, what did not see?
Everything at the site refers to Health Insurance reform, not health care reform. Why has this been changed? I thought the deal was universal health care.

Obama sure is working hard to push something
that he says almost everyone wants. LOL
That alone shows how very few want what he
is pushing.
No, they are not coping with an engaged and enraged public well at all.
What goofs! Why not just direct people to where they can read the bills for themselves like most of us have done and quit trying to lie about what is in there?
Nachum, they know there is a very large percentage of our citizens who do not want this health care. But, they need to ram it through. They know the honeymoon is leaving and it is now or maybe never for this administration to pass the health care reform bill.
I want my own care coverage, not theirs. Geez, everyday they are reaching further and further into the private sector. I think the buck stops here.
It is the final nail in the coffin to send the economy to a place that will take many long years to recover from.
