Agreed. While a referendum vote may be appropriate at the state level, it would be dangerous at the national level. The ammendment process for the U.S. Constitution was intentionally made hard to keep capricious change from occuring.

Exactly and its also why our government is supposed to work at a snails pace. This crap about the democrats wanting to ram all things through in a matter of days rather than months or years is extremely dangerous.
Then there is the matter of these 1000+ page bills. There's just no good reason for it other than to provide cover for all the goodies for congressmen and their friends and to keep Americans in the dark.
